With regard to feed resources, UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha says the conference recommended that the researchers should help develop silage and hay-making at small and commercial farm levels. The conference called for promoting TMR-based feeding system in accordance with requirements. It said multi-cut high yielding fodder varieties needed to be introduced for year-round fodder supply. It suggested that climate resilient fodder varieties especially for arid regions should be introduced. Stating that Mycotoxin was a serious threat to the food safety, it called for developing strategies to manipulate the supply chain to reduce the risk. Prof Pasha said the conference participants agreed that feed additives could be helpful for feed formulation for maximum food safety nutrient conversion to end product.
